Let's talk in-season upper body pressing and which exercises give you the best results in accordance with your goals of being THE BEST baseball player on the field!

📖Quick story: Early on in my career I always used the dumbbell bench press for a majority of my upper body pressing as previous coaches told me it was the "safest" exercise on your shoulders and provided the best results. However, once I started educating myself more in college I strayed away from this exercise in-season and favored more push-up and landmine press variations as I thought the benefits of these two exercises outweighed the dumbbell bench press.

⚾️💪🏻Here's why⚾️💪🏻
Push-ups & Landmine Press Variations are not only great exercises to improve upper body strength, but they also provide the added benefit of scapular movement. Maintaining good scapular upward rotation over the course of a season can provide the benefit of bypassing injury as well as keeping your shoulder strong and healthy all season long. Unlike bench press variations that lock the shoulder blades down to the bench, the push-up and landmine press provide good scapular movement and drive good scapular upward rotation.

✍️️As an added note push-up and landmine variations are NOT limited to the exercises I provided in the video above. These are just a couple examples of variations I use most frequently.
