Thank you, Ina! 🥂
Yesterday afternoon as I'm cooking for friends who are coming over for dinner, John says, "Are you nervous?
I mean, he's a James Beard award winning Iron Chef!" #noseriously
I say, "I hadn't thought of it that way but now that you mention it.... No, I'm not."
Insert emoji of me being nervous here.
I guess I could've been, I guess I should have been, but I wasn't.
I was having fun.
Since I was pregnant with our 9 year old, I have loved watching @inagarten cook.
She has a calming effect on me.
We can't all be talented chefs but we can enjoy the process... I think that's the important part.
A host who is enjoying herself is sure to set the tone for the guests.
I don't think anyone even noticed how I roasted the Marcona almonds too long...
(Ina said to watch out for that but we were drinking good wine so....I got distracted!)
I may have cooked my/her gorgeous turkey lasagna a little too long as well.
But it didn't matter because we all had a blast and that chef? He and his fabulous wife gushed as gracious guests do because they are beautiful people and sometimes it's just nice to have someone else do the cooking.
Literally and figuratively.
Cheers to you, Ina!!
For your fabulous recipes that work and your example of a smart, successful gal who loves what she does and who she does it with.
In my next life, I'm coming back as the #barefootcontessa .
