So my trip to Barcelona got off to an interesting start when my flight was delayed for 3 hours 😡. When I arrived all I wanted was some good food as I hadn't eaten a proper meal in 6 hours and was #hangry. The lovely people working at the reception desk in my hotel gave me a wonderful suggestion for a tapas place in the El Born district - Bar Del Pla.
I had oxtail with crispy onions and fois gras (I know, this is controversial but in fairness I had never tried it before and the dish was only about 6€ #nothingventurednothinggained #yolo) the oxtail was melt-in-the-mouth and had an incredibly rich beef flavour (almost like a ragu that's been cooking for hours), the most delicious plate of patatas bravas, and crispy, fried artichokes (I was not particularly impressed with these - I found them to be lacking in flavour). I'm looking forward to trying even more unusual and delicious spanish food over the next couple of days 😊
