Let's be honest, not all of us always check our wheel bearings. It's not because this part is less important, but we tend to forget them. Before something terrible happens, you need to make sure your wheel bearings are safe. Follow this hassle-free ways to check them, and you don't need to worry for the rest of your life!
Step 1: Raise your ride about 6" off the ground
Before working on your car, you need to be sure the surface is even and firm. We encourage you to secure yourself and your car even more, by placing the transmission on Park.
Step 2: Place some jack stands to support the opposite wheels
When you practice, you need to check both front or rear tires off the ground to make an accurate assessment. The jack support will crank up the opposite side allowing you to check both wheels, one by one of course.
Step 3: Rock the wheel
We're not talking about some hard music. It means you need to grasp the top and bottom of the wheel and rock it to unplug your wheels from the chassis. After that, check your bearings. If the corrosion or discoloration starts showing, you may want to change it with the new one.
Step 4: Lower down your car
After all your hacking up done, lower your car down safely. Make sure to shift your transmission back to park or first gear before you crank them down.
Wow, that's super easy right? Now, you can practice them yourself or with your friends. It's fun an important at the same time. Happy trying!
