Called up my old bank earlier this week and closed my account I'd had with them since I was five. I have recently switched our accounts to ING. As a result, recently I started being charged a $4 monthly fee for having the account open without my salary being deposited. 👎
I originally stayed with them to avoid ATM fees as they had an amazing ATM network and I always knew where I could find one and avoid that $2.50 fee. But was annoyed about their low interest rates on savings accounts, and fees. When I realised I could switch to ING, get a better savings rate and avoid fees and use any ATMs fee free I was sold. And an added bonus, I prefer their banking app 😀
I finally made the phone call to close the account. No more $4 monthly fee. 🙌 .
Are you paying unnecessary fees on your bank account? Have a look around and don't be loyal just because you've always been with that bank.
