Now its getting serious with #vintagemtg and #misprints ...here you see 5 digits of basic lands. Two different types of misprinted #gurulands -
Three of the so called "drowning man" Islands, because the stamp is upside down and resembles a drowning man in the water and one is stampless. For years there were rumors that the stampless ones were stolen from wotc, and therefore no one wantes to buy them. But this was just that - a rumor. Meanwhile it has been confirmed that these are real factory misprints. Anybody who still doesnt know should get his sh*t updated. 11 of these are confirmed to exist. But the way the guru-printsheets look like we have to assume that at least 20 exist. And around 12-13 copies of the drowning man gurus are confirmed to exist. The way the error occurs on the sheet, we have to assume that at least 15 of those are out there. I know, these are very subtle errors, but with the non misprinted island being half a grand already, these are in the league of some of the most expensive basics to ever exist, having 4 of those is even more special. But indeed, it didnt took me so long to get these done, I knew where to look for and I was willing to pay good money. But if I wanted more, it will be hard. Of those known copies, I currently just know the whereabouts of 2 more stampless Islands (and some more of the stampless nonislands) and two more drowning gurus.
Interesting fact for people who dont know: only upside down stamped mountains and islands exist. Due to an unknown reason, we just know about two mountains. It remains a mystery why so few mountains have surfaced so far. In all fairness, mountains and islands appeared on different sheets, and the low number of mountains only makes sense if first just one of the sheets was printed, then the other, but the error on the other was noticed quickly and recalled. Therefore a minimum of 5 Mountains should be out there.
If you want to know why these errors appear the way they do, just comment!
