Saw this a number of times today while reviewing food logs. Eating nutrient dense foods is our goal versus eating calorie dense foods. The problem with the 5 star bursts is far deeper than the lack of nutrition. Obviously, the candy is going to leave you hungry while the banana will give you energy and about three grams of fiber helping you feel full. Always strive for more nutrient dense options. You’ll have more energy and won’t splurge on other things.

YAY! 🙏🏼 For those of you who don’t know baby Jackson was born 7/6 to an amazing Fed Hill @yogaworks_baltimore yogi family - @jojack9 & @cougheemonster ♥️ It was so amazing to see this beautiful fit momma (the dad is cool too) ☺️ in class every week literally up to a few days before her delivery - watching her yoga poses change with her body & all the modifications was magical. Hope to have a little yogi in the making and congrats to a healthy happy baby! Bring him in soon for all of us to say hello! ✌🏼 @jojack9 has been in my class (and lots of classes for a while) and said, “Yoga helped me a ton-mentally and physically. I was able to keep up a routine that allowed my body to work and stretch through pregnancy, and I have bounced back physically faster than I could have imagined.” 💪🏼

For today's #PTFTip, learn how to do #LegLifts! This workout can be great for your abs, if it's done correctly. Many #fitnessnewbies will arch their back while performing this exercise. If you're not keeping your lower back and abs contracted, then you're only working your hip flexors. If you feel your lower back starting to arch, then it's time to stop. Focus on proper #form instead of number of reps. Here's how to do this exercise correctly: - Maintain your back's natural curve, don't flatten your back against the floor. - Keep your head and shoulders flat against the floor.
- Your neck should be relaxed and your #abs should be contracted.
