Today’s workout was a good one! Targeting back, a little bit of bicep, and did some ab work today.

Ab work is a little hard for me. I have an umbilical hernia so anytime I do large amounts of ab work, I begin feeling sick. Now that’s not to say I don’t do it. Never write off an illness as an excuse! Push yourself as much as you can you’ll surely see results.

In other news, it should be a crime to look this good for the gym 🤗🤗

We will be stepping out of our comfort zone and pushing ourselves for the @rivervalleyranch trail half marathon. With this being the weekend before the NJ Beast, it should be a great measurement for our training. Go check it out.

BUILD A 🍑 WITH CENTRE OF GRAVITY/BALANCE

Today I practiced finding and sustaining my centre of gravity, as well as putting weight through my heel.
The reason?!? The better you are at balance and controlling your centre of gravity, the better you will be in performing complex lifts as well as compound lifts like the squat or deadlift (therefore yielding better physical results AND a better booty 🍑🍑🍑)!
Today i wanted to show you a simple progression into what is called a tabletop pose - where your spine is lined up parallel to the ground, with all your weight in one leg. This teaches the body to stay controlled in compromised positions but also teaches you to balance and push through your heel (which is very important when working out to build a strong posterior chain(da booty 🍑)) Here are a few things to keep in mind when practising this pose:
1⃣it's not easy and you may not get it the first try, but keep trying
2⃣put all your weight into the heel that is on the ground- if you shift it to your toes you will likely lose balance and defeat the purpose of the exercise
3⃣keep your head right between your arms as you move into the position parallel to the ground- this is what is called "neutral spine" - and also teaches you to do this during the deadlift and squat
4⃣contract your core and keep your hips centred towards the ground, don't let your hips open up to either side of the room
