Take an easy Sunday float on this paradise 🍃

Hidden away in the far north Bali is the village of Sambangan. Only the locals and a handful of savvy tourists have experienced the breathtaking splendour of the jungles and waterfalls near Sambangan, known as the Secret Gardens.

The gardens are a chain of natural pools and cascading waterfalls hidden within the lush Balinese rainforest. There are seven falls in total and it takes a three hour trek deep into the jungle to explore most of them. Remote and unspoiled, the scenery here is among the most beautiful in Bali.

The pools are filled with cold spring water, perfect for cooling off after the long jungle trek, and some of the waterfalls even serve as natural waterslides for the daring!

Glorious mountain view with a touch of Balinese culture ❤

Lempuyang Temple, locally referred to as Pura Lempuyang Luhur, is one of Bali’s oldest and most highly regarded temples, on par with Besakih (aka the ‘mother temple’ of Bali). It is also believed to predate the majority of Hindu temples on the island. Definitely a highlight on any travel itinerary for the fit and adventurous, the main temple lies at 1,175m above sea level, up on the peak of the namesake Mount Lempuyang in East Bali.
The heights are reachable via a steep staircase of over 1,700 steps, with attractions along the way including several other temples and hordes of grey long-tailed macaques that inhabit the surrounding cool mountain forests.

Epic view from this majestic cliffside ❤

Uluwatu Temple, or Pura Luhur Uluwatu, one of six key temples believed to be Bali's spiritual pillars, is renowned for its magnificent location, perched on top of a steep cliff approximately 70 metres above sea level. This temple also shares the splendid sunset backdrops as that of Tanah Lot Temple, another important sea temple located in the island's western shores.

Pura Luhur Uluwatu is definitely one of the top places on the island to go to for sunset delights, with direct views overlooking the beautiful Indian Ocean and daily Kecak dance performances. Balinese architecture, traditionally-designed gateways, and ancient sculptures add to Uluwatu Temple's appeal.

Without a doubt, what makes Uluwatu Temple spectacular is its cliff-top setting at the edge of a plateau 250 feet above the waves of the Indian Ocean. 'Ulu' means the ‘top’ or the ‘tip’ and 'watu' means a ‘stone’ or a ‘rock’ in Balinese. Several archaeological remains found here prove the temple to be of megalithic origin, dating back to around the 10th century. There are two entrances to Uluwatu Temple, from the south and the north.

A small forest lies at the front and hundreds of monkeys dwell here. They are believed to guard the temple from bad influences. The serpentine pathway to the temple is fortified by concrete walls on the cliff side. It takes about an hour to get from one end to another as there are several fenced points along the way to stop. The views from the bottom of the water surging up against rocks and the ocean horizon are remarkable.

The Balinese Hindus believe that the three divine powers of Brahma, Vishnu, and Siva become one here.

Take a morning stroll around this majestic temple ❤

Besakih Temple, known as Bali’s ‘Mother Temple’ for over 1,000 years, sits 1,000 metres high on the southwestern slopes of Mount Agung. Besakih is an artistic and unique complex that comprises at least 86 temples which include the main Pura Penataran Agung (the Great Temple of State) and 18 others.

Besakih is the biggest and holiest of the island's temples and is surrounded by breathtaking and scenic rice paddies, hills, mountains, streams, and more.

To the Balinese, visiting the temple sanctuaries is a special pilgrimage. Mount Agung’s high location gives it an almost mystical quality. Many stairs lead up to the sacred mountain, leading to the many temples that vary according to types, status, and functions.

Pura Besakih features three temples dedicated to the Hindu trinity. Pura Penataran Agung in the centre has white banners for Shiva, the destroyer; Pura Kiduling Kreteg on the right side is with red banners for Brahma, the creator; and Pura Batu Madeg represents Vishnu, the preserver, with its black banners. You can visit other temples in Pura Besakih, but many of their inner courtyards are closed to the public as they’re reserved for pilgrims.

Pura Besakih is the only temple open to every devotee from any caste groups. This is because of its nature as the primal centre of all ceremonial activities.

What an amazing ricefields paradise as far as you can see 🍃

Canggu is a coastal village and 10 km beach on the south coast of Bali, Indonesia. It lies approximately 10 kilometers north of the hustle and bustle of Kuta and present a much more relaxing atmosphere of dining, cultural and beach activities.

The main Canggu streets are Jalan Batu Bolong, Jalan Padang Linjong, Jalan Batu Mejan and Jalan Tanah Barak.
Along Jalan Batu Bolong you find the temple of the dead, Pura Merajapati, and the Pipitan Cemetery.
Along the beach there are two main temples, Pura Batu Bolong and Pura Batu Mejan, which are both hundreds of years old and were initiated for building by Dang Hyang Nirartha.

The Canggu area used to have scenic views of paddy fields and coconut groves but current rapid developments are quickly replacing these traditional views with private villas.

Enjoying the golden hour over the cliff. How's your Sunday afternoon?

Suluban Beach is one of Bali’s most unique coasts, concealed by natural limestone formations and accessed via steps and log ramps through narrow gaps in the rock. Canopied by a looming cliff face, this small beach may not be ideal for sunbathers, but serves pro surfers well as a base to paddle out and ride adjacent reef breaks, including around Uluwatu, just to the south.

Nicknamed ‘Blue Point’, Suluban Beach lies at the end of Jalan Mamo in the coastal area of Labuan Sait, the same locality shared by famous surf spots Padang Padang and Uluwatu. Unless you’re staying at any of the villas that have recently popped up here (the likes of Blue Point Bay Villas), getting here from popular areas such as Kuta and Jimbaran is best by hotel shuttle, taxi or motorbike.

Sunday stroll through this bridge of love 💙

The rebuilt “Yellow Bridge” (Jembatan Kuning) now connecting Nusa Ceningan and Nusa Lembongan in the Klungkung Regency off the east coast of Bali has already become something of a tourism icon by virtue of the addition of colorful night lighting that adorns the bridge.

The new bridge that was rebuilt to replace the old bridge that collapsed with the loss of 9 lives and 18 people injured in mid-December 2016, now measures 140-meters long and 1.8-meters wide.

Also known as the “Bridge of Love” (Jembatan Cinta), the bridge is attracting many foreign visitors who are flocking to the beach for photographic mementos.

The new bridge, constructed at a cost of Rp. 3.4 billion after the collapse of the old bridge, was officially consecrated in a Hindu ceremony on February 25, 2017.

The new and improved bridge is not only physically larger but stronger than its predecessor, capable of supporting 30 tons but with traffic restricted to pedestrians and motorcycles.

Nusa Penida covers an area of 363 square meters, representing 2/3 of the total land area of the Regency of Klungkung.

Nusa Penida is connected to the mainland of Bali by Roro ferry services from Padang Bai on a trip that lasts 30 minutes.

Other visitors to the area use the luxury cruise vessels that operate on a daily basis between the Port of Benoa and Nusa Penida/Nusa Lembongan.

Since the eruption at the end of November, the activites of Mt. Agung started to slow down lately. We hope that it's a good sign for all of us.
For those who want to travel to Bali, please don't worry of the effect which caused by the eruption of Mt. Agung. Our international airport already operating normally, besides the distance of the main tourism places in Bali are 75 kms far from Mt. Agung.

Saturday stroll around this sacred yet majestic temple 🍃

Gunung Kawi Temple complex, locally referred to as Pura Gunung Kawi, is one of Bali’s most unique archaeological sites, comprising a collection of ancient shrine reliefs carved into the face of a rock cliff. The main site overlooks the sacred Pakerisan River, which also flows by the Tirta Empul Temple a kilometre up north. Across the river from the ancient reliefs is a temple courtyard featuring old Hindu shrines in a more contemporary architectural style, which is attended by pilgrims especially during its ‘piodalan’ temple anniversaries.

Bali’s Pejeng region is famous for its rich collection of archaeological sites, and Gunung Kawi Temple is a popular stopover on itineraries through the central uplands of the Gianyar regency. The temple complex is easily located, only a few hundred meters east from the Jalan Raya Tampaksiring main route, from where you continue down on foot to a paved walkway that is lined with art shops and small local warungs. Along the further 300 steps towards the river, lush paddy terraces and gorgeously green valley go together to transport you back in time away from modernity. There is a similarly named temple, Gunung Kawi Sebatu.

May the ocean can ease your mind ❤

There’s much you can see and do while on Nusa Lembongan, including a collection of pristine beaches with coarse white sand, soaring cliff viewpoints, and sea views that can get very idyllic at sunset, overlooking the outline of Bali’s highest peak, Mount Agung, on the horizon. Other land attractions include a mysterious underground house, lush mangrove forests, and seafood farming villages that retain their old ways.

On Lembongan alone, there’s a great collection of surf breaks along its northwest coast, while snorkelers and divers can enjoy the crystal clear waters and vivid reefs off its southwestern coasts and around the neighbouring island of Nusa Penida. Although a single-day cruise is usually enough to experience one island, you’ll require an overnight stay to be able to fit it all into your itinerary. Here are the few highlights of interest.
