Remember, it’s all about balance - I have some family coming to visit for the weekend, so I’ve just made these lovely little treats - Spelt flour & maple syrup choc chip cookies 🍪😋
Obviously these aren’t exactly ‘healthy’ (lots of sugar and fat) but in moderation these treats can absolutely be part of your healthy lifestyle. Yes, ok, I have used some of the ‘trendy’, less-refined baking ingredients (spelt flour, coconut sugar, coconut oil etc) but that certainly doesn’t mean these cookies are suddenly ‘good for you’! My opinion is that if you deprive yourself of ALL sweet treats you’re hardly likely to stick with a healthy diet. And if/when you are going to eat treats, it’s far better to make them yourself than to buy them - that way at least you know exactly what’s in them and they’re also likely to have less sugar, salt & additives in them than most shop-bought ones. -
I really enjoy treats like these and I encourage you all to enjoy your treats too, in moderation but definitely without guilt...Food for thought...
