Last night was our last night in Baja California. It's often said in the panam overland community that travellers linger in Baja a lot longer than they anticipate. After spending nine days driving through Baja, we can definitely see why people don't want to leave. For us, it's definitely the people. 👬👪👫
People we meet along the way, people who've always lived here, and people who move to live here. Edie & Chris are among the people that moved to live here. We met them at a rest stop on our way down to La Paz and at the time they invited us to stay with them if we were in the area. Five days later we accepted their offer and met them at their casita in El Sargento! 🏡
Since then they have blessed us with so much genuine kindness and generosity. For three nights we have stayed in their casita, ate at their table, and talked about life. They are the kind of people I want to be like. We know we can't repay them but hope to implement this kind of generosity along our way.
Thanks Edie & Chris, you guys are awesome! Hopefully we'll meet up in Colombia or somewhere along the way!
This picture was taken from their roof. I'll put a post on FB with more pictures of our time here soon.
Next: We'll be taking our car on the cargo ferry from La Paz to Maxatlan this afternoon. 🚢
