As a child growing up, I would hide a bag of sliced salted lemons in a ziplock bag under my bed so my mom wouldn’t say “no!!” about me eating them. 😍😋🍋 ...It was the cool thing to do to take lemon slices to school as a “snack”.
Later on in life, as in all lessons of life... I understood why my mom was so against it:
The acids in fresh lemons can be damaging to your teeth because they cause the enamel on the surface to wear away, leaving you more susceptible to cavities and decay. Sucking on fresh lemons or drinking undiluted lemon juice is the most damaging because the acids stick to your teeth. If you add lemon juice to water or tea, drink the beverage through a straw to keep as much of the acid off your teeth as possible. Limit your intake of whole lemon segments as well... ☺️ #motherknowsbest ! 😼 #ZeeTheCook 😬
