There are days that I felt like I was at home, and others that I felt I was extremely far away. There are days that I felt like I would never go back, and others that I wished I could buy a ticket to go home right away. There are days that I missed my bed so much that I couldn’t sleep until 4 in the morning, and others that I was in bed at 9, too exhausted because of the incredible things we did during the day. That’s what is nice about travelling; you constantly question yourself and you begin to appreciate both things: what you discover and learn while travelling, but also the amazing things about home. I had the most incredible trip; we went in the jungle to teach kids, we met awesome people from all around the world, we visited breathtaking Buddhist temples, we spent an entire day with elephants, we went for a few hikes, we tasted completely different foods and flavors, we learned about Thai culture, and most importantly, we learned about each other and about ourselves for 7 weeks. That’s the most important thing to me because I truly believe that life is not about “finding yourself” but about creating yourself through experiences. Now, amazing things at home are awaiting for me; especially my beloved family, my wonderful friends and thrilling new adventures.
