This is a lengthy one.
Haven’t been to @hardvolumecrossfit in 9 days so here’s some clips from the last couple sessions I had before traveling this past week.
•5x5 back squats ended @ 215#
•5x5 deadlifts ended @ 225#
•3x1 clean singles ended @ 155#
I didn’t feel well for awhile after my vacation back in June. I got sick a lot, had a lot of stress and my body just felt depleted. I had trouble lifting even just moderate weights and was out of breath for workouts that I knew I could do. The gym is #myplace to just be and not being able to enjoy it really sucked. I had little to no motivation and felt like I was missing out on all the fun but I kept showing up anyway. It wasn’t until last month that I finally started feeling better. That’s about 2.5 months of feeling crappy!
Moral of the story: take care of your body. Know when to listen and take rest days, even rest weeks if needed. Know your goals and remind yourself why you do what you do. We all have setbacks but it doesn’t mean you should quit. You just need to figure out what works best for you. You don’t always have to train harder, you need to train smarter!
