We have a lot to be thankful for this year. Of course, it’s the little things that matter most; we are grateful to have food on our plates/in our food bowls, shelter to keep us warm, and company that makes our hearts feel home. But this year feels different...bigger, more meaningful. It’s been a turning point and the beginning of a new chapter for us. We moved to the PNW (6 months ago already!) and have made some wonderful hiking friends. Our mom got a new job in Seattle and is creating a healthier work/life balance for herself. (Sometimes we get to go to work with her, too.) We got to participate on a podcast about photography in the PNW, and have had a blast exploring new trails throughout the area. 🙏🏻
We came here without a plan and didn’t know what to expect. Honestly, after our car got broken into during our first 2 week’s here, we considered moving back to the east coast. It was uncomfortable not having family or a support system that’s based here. At the same time, it felt right to stay and give it a chance, to have our @cherylstrayed moment.
Staying here gave us a chance to get acclimated and become stronger. To start over. To embark on an adventure. To make “home” our own. In a way, we found ourselves.
Having gratitude is important because it allows us to 1) appreciate what we have, and 2) recognize the abundance of goodness that is present in our lives. When you’re feeling lost and unsure, having gratitude keeps you on your path. It keeps your head in the stars and your feet on the ground. It keeps us happier and healthier, too.
Thank you guys for being a part of our journey. We appreciate the time you all take just to look at our photos, let alone to like and comment on them, and read the lengthy captions we share. We’re thankful that some of you - from all over the world - have felt comfortable enough to share your personal stories with us, too. We treasure that and believe in using the @instagram platform as a means to connect with others. Thank you for giving us a chance to. #HappyThanksgiving you guys. 🦃🍁
