I'm gonna call it: she's finished! This adorable little baby elephant that captured my eye has been such a joy to draw. 😍 Newborns have this special energy about them that's very captivating. This one just looked so full of life that I wanted to capture it as a drawing. That energy and curiosity of being on the cusp of something new. . The other great thing to come out of this (besides the drawing itself) was that I found @r.e.s.c.u.e Reteti Elephant Sanctuary and their wonderful Instagram! That channel is just cuteness overload of orphaned elephants at the sanctuary. What's not to love? 🐘 . I did omit the bits and pieces of birth material that was left on her in the photo, because it wouldn't have made any sense in this black and white rendition. That it was there makes me think that she was no more than maybe 30-60 minutes old in the photo (inform me if you're wiser). ❤️ . What do you guys think? How does she look? Should she have a name other than "newborn baby elephant"? Does the foot look weird? Is the shading okay? When I get a good look at it in daylight I might add some kind of background, but I find some time away gives me fresh eyes and better decisions! . . . #retetisanctuary#babyanimal#babyelephant#linedrawing#fineliner#pigmamicron#005#archivalink#africanelephant#newborn#babygirl#lineartist#stipling#dots#lines#finishedwork
