Baby chimp hold
Biology that we can't beat: Our 8 days old daughter shows a chimp hold!
Humans are closest cousins of Chimps. That made me wonder biologically we share a lot of traits with them. It is our mind development in the later part of our life that makes us different than the other species from our origin. I recently discovered that our 8 days old daughter has a great biological gift of holding with her feet. As the case in Chimps, Monkeys, Langurs and others, their infant babies make a strong hold on their mother's body both with their hands and legs This ensures that their mothers can easily move around in the forest for food and water, can hide from a potential predator or threat and can climb up at a safe place and at the same time carry their infants without using their one or both hands. This hold was super miraculous and this has inspired me to find more about infancy and child skills (how the child mental development happens over a course of time from infancy to adulthood). Will be sharing my personal findings (like this one) .
