About 7 weeks ago, I decided I wanted to do something that was literally going to throw me out of my comfort zone ✌🏾. So I took this little challenge to Lombok whilst heading in that direction for a good friends wedding. The result? Climbing #MtRinjani, an active volcano that's almost 3800m high as well as tie in a 41km trek (across two mountains, a volcanic crater and a rainforest) by myself in 2.5 days.... 😬🤙🏾✌🏾💃🏾😳. Hands down, this was the hardest thing I have ever done both mentally and physically. I know you must be thinking what a freaking idiot (half way through yesterday, believe me I thought the same thing) but I can safely say, it was absolutely phenomenal.
The last 1000m of the volcano is sat on a 65 degree incline... essentially it's like quicksand... so when you take one step forward, you literally take two back 😶🔫.. exactly what you want when you've been trekking since 2am and you're dragging your butt up there for sunrise. I may also be about 50 shades darker - not because of sunburn, but because that's actually how much dirt I now have on me 😂#babetown.
Ok, so some battling wouldn't be an understatement, however the view up the top most definitely wasn't!
Well Rinjani it's been bloody swell, great to have 🌋 ✔️ you off the list ... but now time for those margaritas and cheeky mani / pedi tomorrow 😅💁🏾💅🏾
