"Human is what my name is" was his only introduction- Today is the #DeathAnniversary of #BabaAmte, a great and legend social activist. He had been honoured by #MahatmaGandhi as "Fearless Activist". Murlidhar Devidas Apte had left his practice of law and jumped in Indian freedom struggle and extended Gandhiji's inheritance of #social_service. Though he had born in an aristocratic family, he crossed the borders of Casteism, boundries of Geography and Fear. Firstly for poors affected by leprosy as #Anandvan and later #LokbiradariProject for indigenous people- Madiya. “Social worker should detect needs before they arise”, he would say, and followed the same principal by adhering to his stance of Social Worker, he setup schools for #girlseducation in his projects, his students are spreading education to the farthest corners of tribal belt, being honest to his senses till the end. He campaigned in all over India and Khalistan affected Punjab for Bharat Jodo movement. His 5 tours of Punjab suggest that he was worried more about youth of Punjab than Anandvan's future. Instead of following directions, Indians should find their insights and rationalise their parts in this direction, was his stand for the youth of India. This is what his Samidha- the sacred ash remained for us.
