Mr. Banks and Bert #MaryPoppins
Let's start with Banks. He is a reminder that, even though you may be in a position to teach a child(ren) respect, order, discipline, etc., you must never forget your most important role. To be there for them, whatever it may be. Because to a child, you are everything more than the world. You must never disappoint. Even Father's sometimes need some fatherly advice.
And now for Bert. Bert, to me, is a very tragic character. Somewhat of a Shakespearean nature (romantically tragic) No doubt Mary loves him (I know she does) but there is also a feeling of, not pity, but sadness. Bert is a very #magical character. But unlike Poppins, who truly IS magic, Bert lacks the necessary qualities(whatever those may be) that make him as successful. Bumbling about, always being left behind. But that never bothers him. All that #magic but nowhere to go with it.
