Watching the South Pole stars.
This image shows me laying on the snow at the geographic South Pole of Earth. It's a single exposure with the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station, the Milky Way, the southern aurora lights, and the 12 flags of the countries that signed the first Antarctic treaty. I spent over one year at South Pole with total isolation for 8.5 months in order to get this image. Hence, it symbolizes my dedication to science and in particular to photography. I timed the shot in order to get the Milky Way above the station at -60C temperatures. The six-months-long night at South Pole is just incredible and breathtaking! #capturededication
