After hurricane prep, surviving off of carbs and protein, worrying about what we were coming home to, and struggling to find groceries in our little wounded town still trying to pick up its pieces....I needed something fresh, real, homemade.
Organic spinach, organic arugala, organic strawberries, raw sunflower seeds, raw pecans, nutritional yeast (nooch), and dried cranberries tossed in a homemade dressing with organic apple cider vinegar, avocado oil, Dijon mustard, fresh black pepper, garlic sea salt, and local honey (use agave or maple syrup if vegan). I don't buy all organic. I do always buy my greens and berries organic because there is a significant difference in those particular items. The nutritional benefits of berries do NOT out way the harmful effects that nonorganic berries can have on our bodies. Greens are treated with the most pesticides and I've found that organic greens tend to last longer than "regular" greens. I prefer organic ACV over "regular" because I like that it is unfiltered with all the goodness that comes from apples. My advice is to do your research. It is your responsibility to know what you're putting in your body. You only get one body, why not treat it like a temple? If you treat your body well, you feel better. Its never too late to start caring. 💖
