🤗Welcome to my World🌍
You are honoured, for lil'Miss CJ kindly permitted me to take some photos of her in her most favourite of spaces doing one of the things she loves the most 😱😊 & I actually managed to capture her genuine smile [second photo in] 😊🤗
She will choose to spend the majority of her time here, her safe space, perched on her pink swivel chair with her flexible legs twisted, in what for some, would be an uncomfortable position.
With Laptop on her lap & earbuds in her ears. You might be fooled into thinking this is typical behaviour for a 15yo teenager, isn't it??
Well partly yes, I suppose in some ways it is.....but she isn't chatting to friends or playing online games with them.....she is in her own world with her fictional characters that she has made up. These characters are her Marvel characters. She absolutely loves all things #Marvel [#captainamerica sweatshirt] & #StanLee. She uses different dress up games to bring them to life. Her lovely smile is from her happiness & pride, showing me all of the hundreds of lovely & imaginative files she has saved of each of her characters. She can tell me a story based on each picture, she remembers all of their names she named them, each of their personalities she formed for each of them & they each have a backstory from childhood to now.....it is really quite fascinating, when she invites me into her world of predictability, a world that she has created & that she loves drifting off into. This isn't a hobby, it's an obsession & can be difficult to get her from this world into our own.
To escape & indulge in an obsession is not just a desire but a very real need. Once a thought has entered either of the twins minds, they are unable to move on or forget about it until it has been satisfied, regardless the time of day or night. I would never deny them their obsessions or repetitive behaviours as they are not pointless or serve no purpose. In a world that is stressful & confusing to them, these actually help to calm them, reduce anxiety, help them to regain control of their emotions & give them time to try to make sense of their world.
