Happy Birthday To Mark Twain! The first step is always the hardest. If we can only get started, it builds momentum and it's easier to keep going.
For instance, so many people will set New Year's resolutions but very few will succeed. > Did you know that the number 1 New Year's resolution is Weight Loss?
Most people struggle because they are so overwhelmed by the different things they can do that they don't know where to begin.
A proven strategy that works is to pick 1 thing that will bring you closer towards your goal. For weight loss, it could be as simple as going for a walk for 20 minutes a day. Once you make it a habit, it will be easier to stick to and at that point, you can decide to change something else if needed.
As we enter the final month of 2017, I encourage you to get started on your goals. You don't have to wait for the New Years or some arbitrary date to get started.
This can be applied to almost everything in life. I often struggle with getting my most important work done for the day. I just start with something and within no time, I'm in the zone.
2 of the best books I've read on this topic are:
1) The War of Art by Steven Pressfield
2) Deep Work by Cal Newport
