It will thrive in the sandy soils from Capel Sound to Portsea. They are small but just $25 each! We have a small number of the hard to get Australian Smoke Bush - Conospermum triplinervium. Also Acacia fettuccini Deua Grevillea Red and Gold abd many more!
Crowea "Festival" flowers for much of the year locally. A hybrid between Croweas exalata and saligna. It has a naturally compact habit growing to 1m x 1m. We have great looking examples in our #displayGardens and some in large pots where they also do well.
Pycnosorus globosus – Billy Buttons is a great plant for damper areas. Easy to grow with succession through self seeding. In the background of this picture is a core 10 Water sculpture consisting of 3 spheres designed to float around on a large pond or similar.
Doryanthes excelsa, the Gymea Lilly growing wild in its home range. There's a lot to like about Doryanthes with their spectacular flower spikes up to 4 metres tall. The strappy foliage adds elegance and structure to any garden. They thrive on the Mornington Peninsula and around Melbourne. Particularly hardy they will often produce a flower within 5 years given good nutrition and water. A fantastic Australian native plant.
