FREELANCE DESIGNERS AFRAID TO CHARGE HIGH RATES?👩🏻💻 If you feel uncomfortable charging high rates, that is understandable, IT IS VERY COMMON, but charging too low hurts everyone. So think about the greater good of your design community, if that helps you charge the big bucks! 🖊🖌🖍💻
I charged $1000 for a logo for many years (from 2007-2017), and I from occasionally, I gave a 50% discount just to get the job, so really I was charging $500 hoping they would come back for little jobs here and there. But, I was really just doing logos, giving them the files, and moving on. 📌
The logo business has changed a lot in just the past few years for freelancers. People can get custom logos for $50 bucks these days on the different "hire a freelancer" websites. So, I recommend to get creative with your sales pitch and the brand design package you are offering. Offering full "BRANDING PACKAGES" is the new trend for high-end custom graphic design. 👨🏻
Did I say "sales pitch?" Yep, sorry, If you want to be your own boss as a freelancer, you've got to do SALES! I know it can feel SLEEZY to be a Sales Person, but it's a big part of any business. ♥️
Don't worry you don't have to be cheesy, and if your online presence is great, all you have to do is direct leads to your website or social media platforms
Make your website sales pitch look amazing, outline everything that is included with your logo design. Dazzle them with BIG BRANDING PACKAGES that really take them to the next level with their business.
Keep in mind that you want to give the intention from your website that you WANT big clients. You can always make that personal connection with smaller businesses, and give them discounted rates if you would like to make the sale. Just be sure you are giving everyone top quality service.
Always promise what you can actually achieve in the time-frame quoted, and over-deliver every time! ♥️♥️♥️
