AUSTIN, TX: We try to paint a cheery picture for long term shelter dogs who have loving volunteers and staff caring for them, but 9 year old Trey is a good boy whose companionship is being wasted at the shelter. Trey has been living in his concrete kennel for over 500 days and that's just not a good life. Sure, it may beat life on the streets, but Trey deserves better than that. He's just good guy who doesn't have any options right now. And it doesn't feel fair. PLEASE SHARE to help Trey find love for his golden years!
Trey was previously featured on SSD a week ago. He received NO emails.

At over 500 days in the shelter, Trey has lived more days and nights in a cement kennel than any other senior pup currently in residence at @austinpetsalive.
Although he's technically a senior, his joyful expressions and #puppyish good looks really shine through when he spots a toy or knows you're taking him for a walk! He's become something of a legend out on the Austin trails. He's out there with volunteers every day, and is super polite with every person, dog or bike he passes.
Trey is friendly and polite when meeting kids in public, but would do best in an adult-only home. He used to live with a dog and did fine. He's 9 years old, so he's not the kind of guy who is rough and rowdy. Although he has his moments of inviting play with dogs, he doesn't actively seek out playtime in playgroup. He's the kind of dog who is happy to live with another dog who would just kind of let Trey hang out. You’d be asked to bring your dog in for a meet and greet to ensure it’s a good match
Trey has a personalized training plan and is learning skills like sit and down, walking nicely on leash, and coming when called. This good lookin' fella is easygoing and happy to lay by your feet in the evenings or just be by your side. He's a very #loyaldog and is searching for his #bestfriend."
