In light of the recent passing of Sudan, the last male northern white rhino, I decided to symbolically adopt a tiger today through WWF. If you go to the link I’m going to post below, you can look through all of the at risk, vulnerable, threatened or endangered species that the WWF is actively working to protect. They also have a promotion going on for the Snow Leopard right now that’s just an $8 monthly subscription. We’re not the only species on this earth and it’s sad that it takes the near-extinction of others to open our eyes to that. I want my future children, grand children and great grand children to be able to see lions, tigers and bears (Oh my!) in real life. Not in pictures and books, remembered and imagined not much differently than how we remember or imagine dinosaurs (bit of an over-exaggeration, I know). These beautiful animals are subject daily to habitat loss, trophy hunting and revenge killings.
And honestly, who DOESN’T want to be able to tell people that they adopted a panda or a narwhal? Don’t ever think to yourself “One person isn’t going to make much of a difference” or “There’s not really anything I can do about it”, because if everyone had that mindset we’d never accomplish anything. Just felt like I needed to get this out today. Here’s the link, friends
