Feeding your "Gut Biome" is just another "newage" eating fad, and not much else! Don't fall for it! Your gut biota is purely INCIDENTAL. It changes, basis what you eat. If you eat a lot of crap, it changes. If you eat a lot of fibre, it changes. If you eat NO FIBRE (carnivorous diet), it changes again. IT'S IRRELEVANT. The gut biota isn't there to SERVE YOU. It's there to serve itself. All this "Good Bacteria, Bad Bacteria" is a whole lot of BULLSHIT. If certain bacteria create certain things our body can use, that's PURELY INCIDENTAL. You are supposed to eat FOODS that YOUR BODY values, and EVOLVED to eat: protein + fat, and some leafy plant foods. And INCIDENTAL to that type of eating, will be a gut biome that will flourish FOR ITS OWN SAKE, and your body may be able to take advantage of some of its byproducts. BUT YOUR DIET SHOULDN'T BE TAILORED TO FEED YOUR MICROBES. It should be tailored to feed your body what your body needs! What you DON'T want to do, is dump a whole load of artificial foods and antibiotics into your SYSTEM, because that's UNNATURAL, and will throw your microbial population out of kilter, with only the most hardy ones surviving, and usually those are the tough, nasty bugs! That you don't want. But for God sake don't go out of your way to EAT FIBRE because some moronic "nutrition expert" decided to propagate a NEW MYTH!
