Galaxies Cluster Toward the Great Attractor ☯️
.
▶️Galaxies dot the sky like jewels in the direction of a mass so large it is known simply as the Great Attractor. The galaxies pictured above are part of a cluster of galaxies called ACO 3627 near the center of the Great Attractor. Previously, this cluster of galaxies, also known as the Norma Cluster, was largely unstudied because dust in the disk of our own Galaxy obscured much of its light. The Great Attractor is a diffuse mass concentration fully 250 million light-years away, but so large it pulls our own Milky Way Galaxy and millions of others galaxies towards it. Many of the galaxies in ACO 3627are slowly heading towards collisions with each other.🌀🔥✨

Negative energy is a concept used in physics to explain the nature of certain fields, including the gravitational field and various quantum field effects.
In more speculative theories, negative energy is involved in wormholes which may allow for time traveland warp drives for faster-than-light space travel.

The strength of the gravitational attraction between two objects represents the amount of gravitational energy in the field which attracts them towards each other. When they are infinitely far apart, the gravitational attraction and hence energy approach zero. As two such massive objects move towards each other, the motion accelerates under gravity causing an increase in the positive kinetic energy of the system. At the same time, the gravitational attraction - and hence energy - also increase in magnitude, but the law of energy conservation requires that the net energy of the system not change. This issue can only be resolved if the change in gravitational energy is negative, thus cancelling out the positive change in kinetic energy. Since the gravitational energy is getting stronger, this decrease can only mean that it is negative.

New jaw dropping UV view of Venus' violent atmosphere created from data obtained by @jaxap Akatsuki spacecraft orbiting it. 🛰 ✨ #BOS
.
The atmosphere of Venus is made up mainly of carbon dioxide, and thick clouds of sulfuric acid completely cover the planet. The atmosphere traps the small amount of energy from the sun that does reach the surface along with the heat the planet itself releases.

Galaxia UGC 477.

Hi, my name is Curiosity and I want to show you where I live. 🤖
You are looking at the southern part of my personal crater (They named it Gale for some reason, I expect that to change immediately, 😬thanks) where I paused my journey to Mt Sharp ⛰ to drill a hole. Weather’s good. In the summer, we get about 0 degrees Celsius and sometimes even warmer at noon. So, I'm having great time. Even tho I'm turning 7 next year, I traveled over 19 km (12 miles) and drilled my 18th hole just a few weeks ago. I also sent you over 49,000 images of this place, available on my website in case you want to check them out. Almost forgot to mention, I spotted some of the key chemical ingredients for life in the gray powder I drilled out of a rock, including sulfur, nitrogen, hydrogen, oxygen, phosphorus and carbon. You’re welcome 👍
A few months ago I went through some stormy weather but now I'm back, better than ever. Well, not 💯 % great actually, because It's been a while since I last heard of my brover Opportunity, so.. if you know anything, let me know. Kinda worried.
In the next few days, our family will get bigger. We are expecting a new Martian baby due in Nov 26th. Won't have wheels tho (bummer) but awesome new tools to dig deeper into my house. I probably won't make it to its birth cause I can't ride too fast (don’t judge me) nor my boss will allow me to. Either way, I wish you the best and welcome to your new planet.
Before I leave, make sure you stalk me at @NASACuriosity (Twitter) for more details of my journey."
Have a great Sol everybody,
Technically yours ❤️,
- Curiosity

Hubble’s Majestic Spiral in Pegasus

This NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope image shows a spiral galaxy known as NGC 7331. First spotted by the prolific galaxy hunter William Herschel in 1784, NGC 7331 is located about 45 million light-years away in the constellation of Pegasus (the Winged Horse). Facing us partially edge-on, the galaxy showcases its beautiful arms, which swirl like a whirlpool around its bright central region.

Astronomers took this image using Hubble’s Wide Field Camera 3 (WFC3), as they were observing an extraordinary exploding star — a supernova — near the galaxy’s central yellow core. Named SN 2014C, it rapidly evolved from a supernova containing very little hydrogen to one that is hydrogen-rich — in just one year. This rarely observed metamorphosis was luminous at high energies and provides unique insight into the poorly understood final phases of massive stars.

NGC 7331 is similar in size, shape and mass to the Milky Way. It also has a comparable star formation rate, hosts a similar number of stars, has a central supermassive black hole and comparable spiral arms. The primary difference between this galaxy and our own is that NGC 7331 is an unbarred spiral galaxy — it lacks a “bar” of stars, gas and dust cutting through its nucleus, as we see in the Milky Way. Its central bulge also displays a quirky and unusual rotation pattern, spinning in the opposite direction to the galactic disk itself.

By studying similar galaxies we hold a scientific mirror up to our own, allowing us to build a better understanding of our galactic environment, which we cannot always observe, and of galactic behavior and evolution as a whole.
