On the road to being #painfree
Read on if you have a literal pain in your butt. This might be the issue. I felt immediate relief.
Long story short. I've been in some kind of #lowerback, #hip, #glute pain since early #pregnancy with my son... Over 2 years now! I thought I would get back to some normalcy once I stopped #breastfeeding (no #hormones) and got my #poledance strength back to where it was before I was pregnant. Nothing changed.
What's wrong? My #piriformis is over working. My #gluteusmedius and #gluteusmaximus are lazy and letting the piriformis do everything that it is only supposed to support not be the main drive. I have fixed other pelvic alignment issues and I'm left with this. What to do? Whip those glute muscles back into shape. This is soooo common. Men, women, and not just about pregnancy. We all have weak glutes from our modern lifestyle, especially #sitting.
I did 3 #exercises today. When I was done there was this amazing tingly feeling of #release where there was previously tension and constant pain.
Here is the first. #Clamshell ... Done the proper way. #isolation and #alignment are the keys. If the Glute Med is weak (which it is if it is lazy like mine) you won't open like a big clamshell. You can make that happen by cheating but that does nothing for the GM.
