I began seriously lifting back in July 2017 - ish time frame. And since, I've had two guys be total ass hats.
The first, was right around September. A guy was looking for a pair of 20 lb dumbbells. There are three sets total at my gym, of which ONLY TWO WERE TAKEN. The third set, was on the rack (but a slimmer style than the set I had). The guy looks at them, then looks over at me. Walks away from some perfectly good 20s over to me, about 15 ft away, points to my 20s (DIRECTLY IN FRONT AND BETWEEN MY FEET) and asks, "are you using those?"
I look up at him, "yeah, watch this," and proceeded to do chest flies and presses. He then walked back to the perfectly good 20s sitting on the rack and lifted them up as if he was bummed he had to go to school or something.
The second time, was just the other day. Dude came up to me after I completed some cable flies and asks, "are you using both sides?" I shook my head yes and then pointed to the COMPLETELY FREE SET RIGHT NEXT TO ME!
Really?!?!?! Why?!?!?! Is there anyone that can explain these to me? Why must some (not all, I've met some pretty cool ones too) guys be complete a-holes?
What makes me the target? Is it because I'm a #woman? Is it because I'm only 4'10"? Is it the two combined? What?!?!?!
Whatever it is, I don't care what YOUR PROBLEM is with me doing my #thang.
I'm not afraid to take up space....even what little it may be.
And other #women shouldn't be afraid either! Stand your ground, take your time, and build yourself up! 😬
