Palmar fascia is a thickened tissue with many attachments to surrounding structures (including the palmaris longus tendon) with tensional pull occurring in various directions.
As such, one should address PALMAR FASCIA in hand-upper extremity injuries just as much as one addresses plantar fascia in foot-lower extremity injuries.

The Importance of The 9 Foundational Movements of CrossFit

For #perthes peeps the understanding of how to adapt these (and many other) movements is critical. Although they're meant to provide functional, lifelong strength for all manner of tasks, some will destroy a hip that's not able to cope with the exercise especially if done strictly to the expected form. This is especially so under the intensity (volume and/or weight for time) Crossfit wod's or HIIT training can involve.

Following is an excerpt from Boxrox.com that explains the logic. 'Beyond the clear health benefits, the reason these 9 movements are foundational is because you can use them to construct (or deconstruct) some of the other movements in Crossfit. Thruster? Well thatโ€™s just a front squat with a push press. Want to improve your clean? Focus on building strength using the deadlift and your front squat. Flipping Tires? Merely fancy deadlifts!

These movements are certainly nowhere near as impressive as a muscle-up or double-unders, but if youโ€™re serious about getting the most from Crossfit, improving your quality of life, and 10x-ing your performance at sports, then you should dedicate some serious time to perfecting these movements. Painful but common complaint from our clients. Lateral epicondylitis- not just tennis players, but office workers, gardeners, carpenters and cyclists. It is a tendonosis with usually the ECRB (extensor carpi radius brevis muscle) involved. Remedial massage can help. We assess, Massage and give you homework (to your benefit๐Ÿ˜Š). Please note, it usually takes a few sessions to treat (depends on the person) but we do have success in releasing pain and increasing ROM.
