I met a stranger in the Arbaney-Kittle Trail parking lot who suggested I try the trail least traveled ( i.e. the one on the left). I took a chance and followed his advice. Yes, the views of the mountains- Sopris, Snowmass, and Capital among others- from this side killed it. Far Superior than the standard route. But it was walking up super steep terrain through a graveyard of trees that made all the difference. So solitary and moody and fascinating. It makes me want to learn more about the life of a forest. The stranger was Morgan from North Carolina, so if you know him, please say thanks to him and his cocker spaniel for me.
