I'm in love with these fabric sculptures by Hoda Zarbaf. Just like I am a complete sucker for Yarn bombing, Yayoi infinity rooms and stationery aisles. The color. The busyness. Yummy
In the six years of calling myself an artist, and being a self-taught artist, my mode of expression has constantly evolved, swinging from abstract expressionism, figurative themes, to pop art, and repetitive illustrative patterns. Besides actual painting, my work day to day also involves studying what other fun artists are doing - interesting art techniques, business management, the narratives around which they build their art.
It is the narratives that I find most intriguing. Mine, and theirs. As my own art has evolved with time, so have my narratives , constantly oscillating between wanting to make some profound point, of art being a commentary on some burning issue, and art that just is. Swinging between the dark and the carnivalesque, it's in the candy hued palette, where things just are. Happy, whimsical, not clammering to make a point. There is a lushness in this space, and in this Is-ness I'm most happy.
