Bc what's better than fresh summer rolls for breakfast 🤤 it's hard to believe people pay $5-7 for a cpl of these delicious, nutritious bundles of yum. When you make them at home they ring in at about 30 cents a piece. 😳🤑 Do yourself the favor, and experience an Asian market near you for groceries ASAP. Here are some tips for stepping out of your Whole Foods and publix comfort zone...trust the produce you see, ask the employees how they like to cook certain ingredients, know what language they speak before you go to the store! Learn to ask for the products you need in their native language, they won't necessarily know the English translation(and let's be honest, they shouldn't have to!) My favorite market is Cambodian, but the owners speak Khmer...so naturally I look up the Khmer translation of goods and add those names to my list to ask if I can't find something. No one should ever pay $15 for a bowl of curry, when a tub of legit curry paste costs $3(which will make roughly a dozen batches of curry, for about 4 ppl each time) ... I don't think I need to convince anyone that American food isn't healthy, is more expensive, is more processed, than any ethnic meal you make from scratch. Wanna lose weight, be more healthy, and have TOTAL control over your diet? The secret is spending more time in the kitchen. #immerseyourself #intotheunknown #eatmoreethnicfood #itshealthier #tastesbetter #makesyoufeelbetter #asianmarkets #arethebest #summerrolls #freshfood #cookmore #weighless #cookingfromscratch #healthismadeinthekitchen #absaremadeinthekitchennotthegym #regulargrocerystoressuck #immigrantswelcome #immigrantsmakeamericagreat #gettoknowalltypesofbeautifulpeople #gettocookalltypesofbeautifulfood
PS: Don't be concerned about the smell of a lot of Asian markets, that's probably just all the fish sauce, dried shrimp, and fermented radishes...which are all super delicious, umami producing gems.🍤🍛🍥🐟🦐🦀🦑🐙 ** If you're looking for a great beginner guide to Thai classics, I highly recommend learning the basics from @hotthaikitchen, she's great at simplifying/adapting recipes for beginner cooks, and people with dietary restrictions.
