Keeping up my normal practice while traveling is hard. Even though I'm technically in "vacation mode" I'm working with different habits: time changes, jet lag, a different diet, etc. Yesterday after eating fish and chips for lunch (ok with a beer) and walking nearly 8 miles, I visited #ashtangayogavictoria. I decided to try second series in order to get some pointers, and halfway through I could feel my strength leaving me. I flipped over for the first time in scorpion (didn't land on anyone thank goodness) and dragged myself panting and sweating through the rest. The instructor (who really knew her stuff) said I had a few things to work on still. But what I really needed to work on was my mind and my mind making the connection to honor my body and meet it where it was. I still had a good class but not just for the reasons I went in there for. Sometimes the practice reveals itself in funny ways.
