A sad news reached us Malaysians upon embarking the month of March.
I do not know #arymalik personally of course,
But I grew up watching kids' show with her as the host.
She was always so talkative, cheerful, bubbly and seemed like a genuinely nice person. 😊
I believe in vibes and the vibe she gave me -- I felt that she was always so HAPPY.
Then when I was 14 my school SMK Taman Melawati held a charity dinner at Flamingo Hotel.
She was the emcee and even off duty she was very pleasant and friendly.
I recalled vividly that she addressed her husband as 'CINTA' or Love. 😊
It was poignant I remember because mostly we Malays would address our Significant Other as 'Sayang', the milder vocab for Love.
When she addressed her husband as Cinta,
I thought that it was so epic and so on point.
I thought yes, why would you call your Love with a word other than Love?
So I have made a pact with my 14 year old self that if I am fortunate enough to be blessed with a husband in the future,
I would call him Cinta too. ☺️ I can't believe I'm teary eyed typing this when I don't even know her personally.
But it humbles me so much to reflect,
That being a beautiful, kind soul is so important.
Because at the end of the day,
People would not remember the expensive home you owned, the flashy cars you drove, nor the high end branded clothing you wore,
But people will remember how big of a heart you had,
And how people like to be in the same room with you,
Because your amazing loving and kind energy was just so contagious.
People too, will remember how ill-hearted of a person you were, if you chose that sort of path.
Therefore Character is always more important.
Always, way more important.
Thank you Puan Ary Malik.
Condolences to the family as well as @cdlxv for the loss of your Godmother.
