Art tutorial 😊 via my art page @apdmarts
Hello you all! I wanted to share a little bit of my process as some people have asked me. If you guys are interested, I could do more tutorials about different aspects of my drawings like mouth, eyes, details on skin or hair, shadows and highlights, etc. Just let me know what you would like to see!
I normally start with a very rough draft looking at a reference picture or from the imagination and after, I set that layer to a 20% opacity.
On another layer I draw a cleaner draft, sometimes I can use this draft as my final lines if it is good enough! I try to keep a nice flow and not overdo the lines. Again, I reduce the opacity of the layer so I can colour on top easily.
On new layers I set the basic colours of my drawing. I normally try to use a new layer for each different part of my drawing like skin, hair, clothing, etc. This way it is easier to modify later if I have to.
On new layers I add details, shadows, highlights, etc, and the final line work. Line work is so important as it can totally change the style of your drawing! Sometimes when I do a commission work I do different lines on different layers and I send several options so they can chose their favourite!
For this drawing I used the picture of my dear friend @lorenagodoy :D You guys should check her out!
I hope you guys can take something from my process! Please ask me if you have any questions or requests for the future!
