• MENTAL HEALTH • ...It's a mind game! Two weeks ago things came crashing down ahgaiin! I was told that 3 hours of brisk walking per week is the highest intensity exercise I can participate in. No running, no sports, no HIIT workouts, no treks. For an Exercise Physiologist, these are the worlds last words you want to hear. Since being diagnosed with ARVC I've always been told to limit high intensity activity but to actually put a limit on it was soul crushing. Yes I've been emotional and struggling to come to terms with it, I also rarely speak about it but what I have done is kept busy and escaped to the outdoors because otherwise I would've felt sorry for myself a hell of a lot more.
If you suffer from mental health conditions whether it's depression, anxiety or you simply are having a crappy day, get outdoors.. it has helped me!
