This morning I ran in the #omaha half #marathon! I was nervous about how well I would do, but to my surprise I finished around 2 hours and 45 minutes. This run is definitely one of my favorites and I hope to continue to do this every year!
For the run itself I started off late from the group (just something I like to do, that way I don't over exert myself early on). I was at a steady pace it felt like for the first 8 miles! I did stop there for 5 minutes or so to refuel and stretch out cramps I could feel building up. Around the 10 mile mark is when I started to slow down for a bit, I walked for a few minutes every .8 miles I ran or so.
But overall I felt great about the run! Going to keep on training and hopefully get my next half under 2 hours and 30 minutes (unsure when that will be though).
