May’s challenge #overthecounteryoga With @cyogalife When designing it, I chose 14 ‘couples’, one pose and a possible counterbalance. The realm of asanas is so rich that, for each one and depending on what body part we’d like to compensate (back, hips, shoulders, etc), what kind of energy to harmonize (stretching vs strengthening, balancing on the hands vs the feet, etc), the counterpose for each is not unique, there are several options possible. As in other challenges, this one has a bit of everything, like a box of chocolates 🍫. Studying a pose and a counterpose will help us understand deeper the physicality, anatomy, energy and alignment of each. As a teacher and devoted practitioner, I’m always eager to learn, figure out ways to approach an asana, deeper understand its intricacies, as well as make it more interesting/accessible for my students so, I will be teaching/writing daily, but I’ll also be, very much so, reading your comments, issues and will try to help out as much as I can so, participate, ask and let’s have a great time!

Uhhh challenging to keep my balance while I try to hook my other foot to the forearm. It’s fun even I can’t hook my foot higher 😜😅 Cmon .
