For lunch, we stopped by Ostbutiken, a cheese boutique and café. After a #vegan, #zerowaste salad, I made a first in our vegan journey: buying (delicious!) vegan cheese from the Greek @violife_foods. We purchased two sorts: one cheddar and one smoked.
A proper transition to veganism requires adopting a new mindset in cooking and eating—where plants aren’t a substitute but a focus. Still, some alternatives, like vegan cheese, are somewhat of a must and add a salty flavor vegan food sometimes lacks. The more we look (and ask!) for vegan alternatives, the more we realize how extensive the vegan market is. Vegan steaks, sausages, milk, yogurt, butter, ice cream, and, yes, cheese: name it, and a plethora of forward-thinking, innovative companies will be at your feet. ✊ #veganeats #plantbasedpower
