Was prospecting with my team around the office today and we came across this beauty, the Montauk Club. The private social club is located on 25 8th Avenue, was built 1889-91 and was designed by Fancis H. Kimball in the Venetian Gothic style. It consists of brownstone and brick, it features verdigris copper and terra cotta produced by the New York Architectural Terra Cotta Works. Very beautiful and fits the area perfectly. Why is it called the Montauk Club? Well it was named after its ornamented representations of the Montauk tribe. Pretty nifty.
