The trickiest thing about social media.... and something neither of us really had to deal with growing up... is remembering that not everything is as it seems. It’s easy to get caught up in the voyeuristic nature of being able to peek into someone’s life and believing that what you are seeing is, in fact, real. That photos aren’t staged. That smiles aren’t covers for insecurity. Even the most “perfect” things can sometimes really just be gilded turds. We aren’t- by any stretch of the imagination- perfect. We fight. We let little things fester into bigger resentment for no reason. We are moody, hangry and unsuccessful in our miscommunication. But even in the midst of the most heated arguments, there is usually a moment where one or both of us will remind ourselves (and the other) that we are in love. And that whatever the mountain (or occasional crazy PMS), it is surmountable and worth the struggle. Don’t try to be perfect. If life has taught us anything, it’s that our flaws and jagged edges are what make us perfect in our own way. Left that freak flag flyyyyyyy!!!!!
Shout out to @sa_company for these super rad gators that help show the world what freaks we really are!! ♥️🖤☠️🤡❄️🖤❤️
