#31DaysofHorrorMoviesinOctober Day 13: #IT (2017). Stephen King's It was the book that took me from reading pretty much only RL Stine's Goosebumps to reading pretty much only Stephen King as I was growing up, and I always thought the 90s miniseries adaptation missed the mark with the stop motion effects at the end, despite Tim Curry's performance still being one of the most memorable in horror movie history. So naturally I was excited to see an updated version, but I worried that it would lose some of the charm of the source material, as most remakes seem to do, but with IT, I was pleasantly surprised. I really found it to be scary, funny, touching, and well acted with great special effects that successfully pulled off things that couldn't have been done at the time of the original. It is a little long, but as I'd wanted to see a good new spin on this since I was a kid, I was into it. Now I'm just curious to see how they'll pull off Part 2.
