Pause and reset. You can't do this kind of training when you are tired, but you have to be well warmed up so it flows without any sticking points. My focus is to draw the power from my right foot. Watch my right knee kick first, that pushes my hip forward and begins the movement. I like to visualize the transfer of energy from the floor, through my body and into the bag. Or I imagine that the bag is a powerful magnet and my hand is a lump of metal being drawn towards it at a tremendous velocity. An Aqua Bag is an implement not often seen in your typical gym but is an awesome tool for building core stability due to its unpredictable nature. To perform the overhead walking lunge with the aqua bag, adopt a standing position with the legs shoulder width apart and place the water bag above your head with your arms fully extended and be sure to focus on maintaining stability and balance. Take a large step forward with one leg and descend the back knee down to about an inch from the ground and at the lowest point, both legs should form a 90 degree angle behind the knee. Now extend your legs back into a standing position by bringing your back leg forward and continue the process with both legs until you have covered the desired distance. The key to mastering this exercise is to make sure you engage your core for stability and balance while keeping the width in your stance as there isn’t quite anything else like the Aqua Bag.
