"It's the family name. Back in 1979, my father who was an eighth-generation baker, decided that he needed to move on to other things. With that, he bought a bus. My uncle was doing the same thing in LA and he saw that and thought he could make a go at it himself. Back then this sort of business did not exist up here in the high desert and so he went and decided to start one. Starting out with only one bus, we have grown to 24 buses in total and have taken guests as far as Canada.
There are two different operations that make up the fleet. One is school bus operations and the other is charter bus. Our passion and our love still falls for the charter bus reigns. That is where the business started and we love doing that. The school buses are designed simply to bring students back and forth to school, whereas the charter buses are more luxurious and have reclining seats and air conditioning. This is the comfort of sitting in your E-Z chair going down the highway.
We also have contracts with the Department of Defense and are able to help and support our troops by transporting them. We also work with the local senior citizens clubs in transporting them to their favorite travel destinations. We are grateful for the 40 years of friendship that these partnerships have brought.
Terry and I were both drivers at one time and we have always enjoyed being out with the public. We get to meet new people and meet their needs. Most of the people we meet are happy, y'know? They all want to be travelling. They've saved, they've planned, they've prepared...and now we're going! It's exciting to take them, return home safely and then do it all over again." -Bruce Ebmeyer & Terry Bryant, Ebmeyer Charter
