I am still coming down from my weekend spent at Anti-Recidivism Coalition's annual retreat.
The Anti-Recidivism Coalition (ARC) provides services, support and opportunities to currently and formerly incarcerated individuals, and advocates for fair policies in the juvenile and criminal justice systems.
During the retreat I had the privilege of leading a Jewelry Making workshop where we made 100 brass 'cuff' bracelets.
I asked participants to think of a story or message that was important to them. We then turned those messages into bracelets. This workshop was an opportunity for the members of ARC to create a piece of jewelry that will serve as a constant reminder of a community that loves and supports them and their role within it. This is a picture of the bracelets before we bent them.
I was blown away by the talent, creativity, brilliance and hearts of the ARC members.
I am grateful for new friendships and that I had the opportunity to see the large impact ARC is making in the lives of so many incredible individuals that are so often overlooked in our society. #antirecidivismcoalition #arc
