The anti-villain: Loki versus Magneto
I’ve thought about this after seeing Loki in the MCU and Magneto in the X- Men movies
- who would I trust to be by my side if I was in desperate need as a hero?
Loki- I think he is one of the most interesting characters in the MCU. He’s not purely a villain and not purely a hero either. He’s a chaotic neutral to me. He’s brings chaos to whatever side he’s on. I don’t Loki can ever really decide what he wants to be, because it’s too good to cause mischief and have people keep guessing.
Magneto- I think he has loads of emotional depth. Just when he thinks life is going good and is trying is best to be better, life throws painful circumstances at him. To me, he holds grudges for a long time and isn’t very forgiving. To which- when you see what the man goes through, you kinda don’t blame him. I think he’s more consistent on what he wants to be. He wants humankind to respect mutants ultimately. But how he goes about it, is not peaceful.
It’s hard to pick between the two but I think I’d pick Loki, because he’s somewhat forgiving and not as violent** as Magento
Note**: The Avengers is the extent I’ve personally seen of Loki’s violence, I need to revisit the first two Thor movies. I’ve seen Magneto’s dark side more than the good, in the six movies I have seen him in.
