Midnight Reflections: On a day when all it seems I should do is pray: pray for those who perished, pray for those lost homes, pray for those surrounded by storms, pray in remembrance, and pray for peace. I decided to spend my day painting my prayers and using my brushes to voice my intentions.
In the silence of the studio today my two selves have been speaking to each other sharing hopes, fears, dreams, and desires.
This piece is still a work in progress. Though my conversation is not yet finished, I must pause for the night and let my paints dry.
As I walk away, turning my back to my easel I pray again for patience, a trait I lack but one which I am challenged to find often when in the studio.
The image comes from a memory and old photo taken of me on an Easter afternoon in 2006. A time long ago which I remember with a smile. #annikaconnor #praying #inthestudio #wip
